Known for their exfoliating properties, Luffas are excellent to use with our bar soap for a luxurious lather experience.
Did you know Luffa is in the gourd family (Cucurbitaceae) and grows similarly to squash.  Many people think it comes from the ocean, but it is actually a vegetable.  The more ya know! Tale of the Snail is excited to offer these little luffa scrubbies that were grown & harvested in Stowe. Tale of the Snail is partnering with 2 luffa growers in the area (Stowe & Pottstown) and if their crops come in, we will have more in the Fall. Luffa takes about 3-4 months to grow and then has to dry before it is ready for use.

These little scrubbies are about 3-4 inches long and 1.5-2 inches diameter. Great for sink scrubbies, dishwasher safe and can also be used in the shower as a body scrubber.

Grown & harvested locally in Pottstown.

It is important to keep your Luffa dry and clean in between use.  After using, wring it out and pat dry with a towel, then hang in a cool, dry place. Once a month it is good practice to soak in a 10% vinegar or bleach solution, then rinse with cool water, wring, and pat dry.  Discard Luffa if it discolors, smells musty or moldy. Dishwasher Safe.

Luffa is a naturally grown plant that will eventually begin to break down, it will not last forever.  4-6 weeks is the natural lifespan of a luffa. Please note they may contain seeds or be slightly discolored. Just discard the seeds.  We do not bleach our luffa so there may be some slight brown discoloration.
